Our Story
How it all began
10ctave was founded on a single belief — that voices, when united with purpose and precision, can move people in ways no instrument can.
What began as a gathering of passionate vocalists has grown into one of Lagos' most recognised choral ensembles. We perform classical choral renditions, timeless hymns, and original vocal arrangements that captivate audiences across Nigeria and beyond.
We are classically trained, creatively curious, and deeply committed to preserving and elevating the choral tradition in West Africa.

The Name
What's in a name?
Ten voices. One octave. Infinite possibilities. The name 10ctave captures the mathematics of harmony — the idea that when the right voices come together, something greater than the sum of its parts is created. Every performance we give is proof of that belief.

John Okoye
Bass · Founder & Director
John Okoye is a multi-disciplinary engineer, musicologist, and Founder/Director of 10ctave Music Group. An accomplished composer and keyboardist, he holds an honors degree in Farm Power & Machinery Engineering from FUTO, bringing an analytical edge to his vocal arrangements and digital projects. Outside of music and tech, John is a dedicated athlete who fuels his lifestyle through weightlifting, swimming, running, and great food.
Onyinye Igbor
Soprano · Operations & Finance
Meet Onyinye Igbor (aka Star Kim) — 10ctave’s resident fashion mogul and operational whiz! Onyinye is the Founder and Creative Director of Star Kim, a Fashion brand dedicated to creating timeless Couture and elegant Ready-to-wear pieces. She is a passionate lover of soulful music, a devoted chorister since childhood, and currently a Soprano Singer with 10ctave. When she isn't singing her heart out or keeping 10ctave’s Operations and Finance Team running smoothly, she is designing outfits that boost confidence and elegance. She knows exactly how to bring harmony to both music and business. Talk about a woman who can do it all!
Tina Odey
Soprano
Tina Odey brings a rich musical heritage and vibrant entrepreneurial energy. She holds a degree in Sociology from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, which deepens her appreciation for community and connection through song. Raised in a family of choristers, her musical journey began early, shaped by morning devotions and shared family rehearsals. She is the founder and passionate artisan of Teecakesville N Treats, and channels her creativity into baking when she isn't harmonizing on stage. To unwind, Tina loves traveling and exploring the tranquility of the beach.
Chidubem Gabson
Alto · Content Strategist
Chidubem, also known as TheLadyBird, is a First Class graduate of English from the University of Ibadan, a UGC Creator, Content Strategist, and a member of 10ctave’s content team. Her love for music began since childhood and has remained a constant throughout her life. From singing in the children’s choir to serving as an alto singer in St. Cecilia’s Students’ Choir, University of Ibadan, music has always been at the heart of her journey. Today, she continues that journey as an alto singer with 10ctave. Chidubem's contribution to this music group goes beyond singing alto. She is part of the content team, thus helping to shape our online presence. You'll usually find her doing one of two things: eating amala or singing. Since you've met her here, it's safe to say she's singing.

Elizabeth Adie is a dynamic vocalist and believes in the power of music to unite and inspire. By day, she manages complex projects, sales, and administration—skills she seamlessly translates into organizing and elevating the group's community impact and performance logistics. When she isn't harmonizing with the altos or coordinating 10ctave's next big move, she loves exploring her creativity in the kitchen and curating memorable experiences for friends and family.

Chibuike Emmanuel Ukwuoma understands the power of reaching the right audience—whether through a perfectly targeted digital campaign or a beautifully executed harmony. By day, Chibuike is a digital marketing and brand development strategist who helps companies scale their online presence through SEO, structured advertising, and performance marketing. By night, he channels that same focus and dedication into the tenor section of 10ctave. Passionate about both digital innovation and soulful choral music, Chibuike plays a vital role in amplifying the group's voice both on and off the stage.

A Data Analyst by profession, Josephat thrives at the intersection of technical precision and creative expression. He holds a deep conviction that singing is a transformative medium—a powerful way to uplift spirits and forge profound connections with audiences. Outside of his professional and musical pursuits, Josephat is an avid football enthusiast and video gamer who brings that same competitive and collaborative energy to everything he does.

A graduate of Electronic and Computer Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Emeka works professionally as a Backend Software Engineer, specializing in building robust, scalable Java systems. He brings that same dedication to structure and reliability to 10ctave's baritone section. As a former choir president, Emeka infuses the group with invaluable leadership experience, strategic vision, and creative insight. Outside of his engineering and musical endeavors, he channels his strategic mind into chess, table tennis, and football.
